Viking Visitor!

Janette Park came to visit the class to help us answer our questions 'did the Vikings live in houses in Orkney?' and 'did the Vikings invent something we have today?'  We learned that the Vikings lived all over Orkney and we can tell this because of the place-names they made up that we still have today.  Some people in our class live in houses with Viking names and some people have a Viking first name or surname.  The place-names all mean something that gives a clue about where the houses are.  She also took along a peedie Viking Fire Festival costume and Alistair put it on to show us what it looks like.
