Wednesday - Day 3 of the Lagganlia experience

Mountain biking – Luke’s group started the day with a morning cycle around the forest near Lagganlia. It was interesting for the pupils to experience woodland cycling rather than our roads! ‘I learned how to go over the handlebars on a mountain bike today!’ Lucy. Miss Nicolson even broke her bike after only 2 minutes on it! Hamish and Craig had their own little detour which was not part of the plan! ‘It was incredibly warm and tiring on the bikes, but it was great fun going down the hills. I even saw my first ever lizard’ Liam.

Gorge Walk with Luke’s group – Beautiful weather for the walk up the gorge, wet and wild and very refreshing. Everyone needed a nice cool down after the mountain biking of the morning. ‘I loved sliding down the gorge’ Tamzin. ‘Going down the final slide was awesome, the gorge was gorgeous!’ Hamish.

The Happy Hill walkers! – Bastien’s group ventured up a 1050m Munro at the back of the centre today. A huge challenge and one that really pushed the team to their limit. Such a great attitude from the group got everyone to the top and enjoyed some spectacular views over the whole Cairngorm Range and over to the Nevis Range, we even saw Ben Nevis from a distance. Well team, Mr Mc was very proud of your effort!
